Admissions counselor Patricia Craft is a firm believer in the importance of education and how it increases opportunities. What lead her to become part of the Southern Miss Gulf Coast family is assisting individuals with reaching their goals, whether with employment, training or education.
A Southern Miss employee since 2011, Patricia says she enjoys working with prospective students providing one-on-one assistance to guide them through the admissions process. “I empathize with many of them and recognize the challenges they envision with attending or returning to college. I hope I’m able to remove some of the barriers they face and reinforce the importance of patience, utilizing available resources and believing in one’s self.”
In her spare time, Patricia is a DIY enthusiast, loves gardening and volunteers with Visiting Pet Teams of South Mississippi. “My puppy child, Champagne, and I visit nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities in Ocean Springs and Moss Point to enhance the lives of residents. It is one of the most rewarding experiences and I strongly encourage others to get involved.”
Patricia, who earned her Master of Public Relations and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi, is designated to assist students interested in programs offered through the College of Education and Psychology and the College of Health.
