MD SARDER, PH.D., is an associate professor and program coordinator of the Industrial Engineering Technology (IET) program at The University of Southern Mississippi´s Gulf Park campus. Dr. Sarder enjoys the diversity and non-traditional nature of the Coast´s student population, making his teaching “fascinating.”
“I relish the challenges and flexibility of a university professor,” Sarder said.
In his fifth year at Southern Miss, Sarder has received the Outstanding New Advisor Award from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) in 2011 and the Butch Oustalet Gulf Coast Distinguished Faculty Award in Teaching in 2010.
Sarder earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering in December 2006 from the University of Texas at Arlington; his Master of Science in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in December 2001 from Wichita State University; and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/ Industrial and Production Engineering in May 1996 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Outside of work, Sarder enjoys gardening and traveling with his family.
